thumbnippongold.jpg (5677 bytes) Very Ornate Nippon Trio.  This set consists of a demitasse cup, matching saucer with curved edge, and a third, larger plate, in the same pattern.  Pictures of all 3 items can be seen by clicking on the thumbnail.  The work involved in painting this set is incredible!  Heavy gilding cover all 3 pieces.  There are gorgeous paintings of oriental people as well on each piece.  For the most part this set is in great condition.  There is a small shallow chip off the outer rim of the cup (very hard to see - I took many pictures, and cannot even spot it in the pics).  There is also a small chip on the underside of the small plate.  Neither minor imperfection detract from the breath-taking beauty of this set.  circa early 1900's. $100.00

thumbnipponroses.jpg (4595 bytes) Another beautiful Nippon piece!  Gorgeous pink and fuschia roses nestled in a bed of green leaves, and accented by black lattice work with white beading (what a stunning contrast!), make this one of the prettiest sets I have seen.  The bottom of the cup is unmarked, and the saucer has "made in Japan", indicating it is a later Nippon piece - this set does have the unmistakable Nippon look.  No chips or cracks - there is some gold wear on the cup handle, and a very faint hairline on the saucer - it is so faint it would not show up in pictures, and even under close inspection is barely visible to the naked eye.  $60.00
