Two Mothers

Although I have two mothers
One I never knew
I'm hoping that someday my wish would have came true
I know that you gave me away for reasons that are unknown
Although I wish you could have a chance to meet this child all grown
To share our looks, our triumphs and joys
For you to meet my girl and boy
I know that this may never be
However you hold a place so close to me
I know I have two mothers
One that's dear to me
One that washed away my tears
and stood beside me through the years
One that watched my children grow
One that stood beside me high and low
I know I have two mothers and to one it was a sin
But all is done and forgotten now please won't you be my friend?
I'm not asking you to be my mother
Because I have one and I really love her
All I'm asking is for a friend
Please this is not the way it should end
Even though I may never know my sisters and my brothers
I will always know in my heart that I have two mothers
