Agility as a dog sport was born here in the UK.
From a demonstration event Agility has become this countries most popular dog activity with classes of 400 being quite normal.

Agility has become a popular dog sport world-wide. Some countries only allow the pedigree breeds to compete, others allow any dog - pedigree or cross.

UK agility has three jump heights:
MINI - for dogs under 15" at the shoulder - jump height 15"
MIDI - for dogs between 15 and 17" at the shoulder - jump height 2 feet
STANDARD - for all other dogs - jump height 2feet 6 inches

There are several classes available for dogs to enter at agility shows:
ELEMENTARY - for dogs, owners and handlers who have not won anything at agility shows
STARTERS - for dogs, owners and handlers who have not won anything in Starters or above
NOVICE -

SENIOR -

ADVANCED -

OPEN - Open to all dogs.
