Which shock combination is right? How do you know? What affect do shocks have on how the car runs?
In racing, shock absorbers do a bit more than helping to smooth out the bumps in the road. You're looking for high speed handling, not a smooth ride. By stiffening and softening a wheel's shocks, you can adjust how much weight is transferred to that wheel in relation to the others. This can have a drastic impact on a car's handling characteristics and tire temperatures, so treat these babies with respect. Keep shock adjustments to a minimum, unless your set-up is way off and you're looking for a major chassis change.
