Converting Nascar for PC Replays into a Mac version:

Did you ever wish that you could use things made for the PC on your Mac. People in the Sim Racing comunity have set out to make and convert tracks that otherwise we could not use. This is often a long and hard process taking many hours of work. It is not like that when coverting Replays for use in NASCAR Racing.

Conveting Replays for the use on the Macintosh is simple. All you have to have in your possecion is Apple's resource editor called ResEdit. Does that sound scary? It shouldn't for what we're going to do. (Note: If you don't have the track that the replay happenned on, it won't work.) Here are the steps you need to follow:

• Once downloading the Replay, you must decompress it. The file is probably going to be in a .zip format. You can use either Stuffit Expander with Expander Enhancer or another program speciffically for unzipping this such as ZipIt!. Check your favorite download site.
• Once your replay is decompressed, you can either drop the replay on the ResEdit icon or you can open ResEdit and use the Open dialog box to load it in
• Either way, you will be asked if you want to make a resource fork. Choose OK to make one.
• Go to the File menu and choose "Get Info for name.RPY"
• We are only concerned with the creator codes close to the top of the dialog box that comes up. Below is the top part of the dialog box. Change the Type to Nrpy and the Creator to Nasc. Only the first letter of the codes can by capitalized or it won't work.

• Click OK on the Get Info dialog and quit ResEdit saving the changes.
• Open NASCAR Racing and go to the track that your replay was made on. You have to do this because the car will do some crazy things. Try using a Watkins Glen replay at Martinsville!
• In the Main window of NASCAR, click on the Replay button. Open you replay and your ready to view it!

If your replay doesn't show up when you try to open it with in NASCAR Racing, it means you did not enter the type and creator codes correctly. Go back through the steps and you should be all right.
