Adjusting the field size:

In Nascar for Mac the maximum number of cars that start a race varies from track to track, from 39 at the larger speedways down to 33 at the smaller tracks. As we all know, nascar starts 43 cars week in and week out. Also, the cars that will participate in a race are determined solely by their order in hte game, as shown in the driver info section. If you are running 38 opponents then you will never get to race with the opponents at the end of the list. This can be changed and is the focus of this weeks tip of the week.
This requires that you use a text editor (simple text or BBedit), and the 'track.txt' file at the track that you plan on adjusting. The path to that file would be data / tracks / richmondn folder. Open the track.txt file in simple text and find the CARS entry with two numbers beside it. The example shown below is for Richmond.

As you can see in the before picture, the field is 29 cars. Simply type in 40 40 (the maximum number of cars allowed) and save the file. Now start N for Mac and race with the full compliment of drivers. Watch out though. That's a lot of cars.
