Adjusting the AI in a car set:

As you can see in the graphic below, each driver has four different setting which control how well, or poorly they race. In this week's tip we are going to find out what each of these settings control and how to adjust them. You will need ResEdit, and a copy of any car set you want to adjust.
Using ResEdit open your car set. You will see the following window when you select the car set that you want to edit. Double click on the box that says 'the quick...', this will send you to the next window, in which you will double click on the file at the very top. This will open a third window, shown below.

This third window is where all of the editing will take place. Each driver will have his own line of information. The first number is the car # (Gordon #24, etc.). The next number is the model of car that a driver drives (0-Chevrolet, 1-Ford, 2-Pontiac). The third number is the tire that a driver uses. As we all know in Nascar, only Goodyears are allowed.

Adjusting:

For all of these settings there is a range. That is why there are two numbers. A driver will always fall somewhere in this range. The larger the difference between the two numbers, the less consistent a driver will be, and vice versa. This allows the settings to be similiar for a number of drivers and still have vastly different results.
