On 29 Feb 1996 tim cook posted to the soc.genealogy.medieval newsgroup: Subject: Re: Mother of THOMAS I, C of SAVOY According to James Anderson (1680-1739) who published a book on royal genealogies during the reign of George II, Thomas I's mother was Beatrix, Daughter of Gerhard, Count of Vienna. Of course, I've learned that this work contains some errors, but generally is accurate.
