Andy Spens

A pacy winger, with an inbuilt instinct to find the back of the net on a regular basis. Signed on a free from Halesowen, after a conflict with the manager, he has worried many a full-back with his wizardry. At only 20 he is surely set for higher things. To quote team manager Andy Tilsley, "It is fantastic to have such a player in the squad - I am confident his striking instinct will rub off on the other players around. He has so much to give, and will be a certain favourite with the fans". Steve Hall was also quoted, "I like to sit and watch him scoring goals, I think it will help my game, as I am having trouble scoring". He has set a personal target of 30 goals this season, and this will surely spark interest among other south coast clubs. Dave Jones is an admirer of his talents.

Spens has many pre-match rituals including filling up a bath with vinegar and bathing in it. He believes it helps him to get closer to his Pickle feelings.
