The Pickles were founded in 1999 by Andy Tilsley and Andy Spens, two of the Cranston Pickle heros. Named after inspirational captain Andy Cranston the team began their league history with a 2-1 defeat against Old Lopesites. Luckily for the Pickles this loss didn't dent their confidence and in the following game the Pickles won 11-1 against the Bulldogs of Chemistry, a rivalry that the Pickles carry on to this day. Two seasons in Division 3 ended with a position of 6th.

Pickles finest hour came in their first ever cup competition when they beat the sports scientists of St. Lukes 1-0. Legendary Andy Tilsley knocked the ball into the net that day and the Cranston Pickle fan still sing songs about it until this day!

In the summer of 2000, Tilsley, Spens and Gillott left the club leaving a void which some of the new guys filled. Hall's first season turned into the Pickles worst in history. A bizarre clerical error led Cranston Pickle into Division 2 for a season, but unfortunately for the Pickles they were relageated on goal difference. The only consolation was a multi-lollipop deal with ChupaChups.

The attraction of a chupachup per game for each player led to the Pickles bringing in many new faces and players like Crowe, Kirkman, Persin and Weaver joined and are definetely the future of the club and with Hall at the helm the club is likely to go from strength to strength.
