Let's get the bad stuff out of the way first. These are my least favorite songs by album. Little Earthquakes - China. It just sounds overly sentimental. The music has some redeeming qualities but not enough to listen to for more than 10 seconds. |
Favorite Girls By Album
Little Earthquakes - Considering how much I've played this album it's amazing I still like anything. But Leather and Precious Things still touch me. Leather's quiet desperation "oh god, why am I here?" and Precious Things backlash at being unpopular make these lasting favorites. Under the Pink - Ever since I first heard the cd my favorites haven't changed. God, Cornflake Girl and Icicle are still ultimately my favorites. God and Cornflake girl rock and Icicle- well, gotta love a song that talks about religion and masturbation at the same time. Boys for Pele - this is a tough one. It would probably be a tie between Blood Roses (love the harpsichord) and Father Lucifer. Blood Roses has excellent imagery and I love the pictures she paints of Lucifer as being a melancholy figure rather than an evil one. From the Choirgirl hotel - iieee. The rhythm is like waves. And Hotel definitely has connections to Neil Gaiman's book Neverwhere- "Met 'em in a hotel beneath ground" could refer to London below, "where are the velvets" is specifically a reference to the vampiric characters called the velvets. To Venus and Back - Most probably "Josephine". It has a very past life feel. Favorite Girl- Here. In my Head: this is a very self searching song, and very sad too because it also contemplates a seemingly doomed relationship. It satisfies my analytical and emotional side.
Favorite Tori Video - I haven't seen any of the Tori videos for the new album but my favorite is a toss up between "caught a lite sneeze" and "god". Both have such beautiful imagery, in different ways.
Favorite Tori Picture This changes some times but right now it's this one: If you've ever played Final Fantasy 8 you should know who Quistis is (the picture on the right). Tori really reminds me of her with the glasses.
