Long time, no update - sorry about the delay, peoples! However, there is at least now a fairly radical update - the addition of a videos page, containing no less than 33 Beatles videos. They are mostly promotional videos, or the montages taken from the Anthology video set. However, there's also a couple of rarities, including a trailer for Help!, as well as several live performances.

A note on the video formats, though. Most of them are Real Media files, and download fine. However, FortuneCity seems to have imposed problems with .ASF and .MOV files, so these have been zipped up - hope this doesn't cause too many problems!

I'm shortly about to be away from a high-speed net connection, so don't expect any updates before January - however, I will be WORKING on updates, nevertheless. I've recently come into a few vinyl records that just HAVE to be recorded, as well as other stuff I want to get put on!

"Woohoo!" some of you might say! Contrary to my original plan of staggering the uploading of tracks, I've put up five whole albums of MP3s in one go - new clean recordings of Please Please Me and A Hard Day's Night, as well as the complete With The Beatles and Beatles For Sale stereo albums. And what's more, you can now find Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band here in it's monoaural form!

At the moment, I am still trying to track down a copy of the White Album mono version - but hopefully it won't be too difficult!

Also, I'm planning a small EPs section to go with the Long Tall Sally EP already on-line, since a few of the EPs contain mono mixes no longer available - notably the Magical Mystery Tour double set. I'll see how things go before I set anything in stone, though!

I hope you enjoy this update - the largest ever done here!

The more astute of you may notice that nothing at all has actually changed - I just wanted to drop a note saying that I'm still alive, and that I still have website concerns going on!

Within the next week or so, I hope starting a whole new load of MP3s - firstly, new cleaner versions of Please Please Me and Beatles For Sale (as well as the rest of the latter going on-line!), plus shortly afterwards I will putting up With The Beatles in stereo, and then Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band in mono - a popular request by many!

Now, I don't want to make any promises, but I'm also hoping to be able to get ahold of recordings of the mono "White" album - I shall see how things go before I start finalise any plans.

And finally, I hope to be able to get a full set of Beatles EP covers and annotations on-line - so keep watching this space! Hear ya later, and please listen.to/beatles_rarities!

Well here it is! The fruit of many night's work! (a little delayed, too!)If you've not visited this site before, then you won't know just how vastly different the design has just changed, but if you're a regular visitor then hopefully you'll find the site much easier to navigate now, as well as being more visually appealing.

However, as well as the major overhaul, I have also had time to add even more stuff to the site - including stereo recordings of side A of Beates For Sale, as well as a special treat to fans of recording sessions - an MP3 of part of the track 2 session tape for From Me To You along with annotation, kindly donated by Rohan Byrnes.

With a bit of luck, I'll soon have the rest of Beatles For Sale on-line, as well as adding a bit more detail into the notes for each record - and updating the last couple of pages still in the old style.

Until then, all the best, and enjoy the new-look site!

Well, spent the long hours of the night uploading the rest of A Hard Day's Night - however these recordings are not my own, and are available thanks to Don Trapani, who recorded them from his Japanese pressing. See the AHDN page for more details!

As for why it's so long since the last update, well I've been away in South Africa - but now I'm back, work is continuing in bringing you more recordings. I am currently in the process of getting Beatles For Sale recorded and encoded - side A is done, but I am yet to start on side B. However, I've not uploaded any of these recordings yet.

Finally, I'm also currently at the stage of redesigning this site to make it somewhat more organised and usable, and with this revision will come a treat, too! So keep your eyes posted this next weekend or two for:
listen.to/beatles_rarities Version 2.0 :)

I've now included a couple of updates to the site - as well as My Bonnie / The Saints and Please Please Me I have now added the Long Tall Sally EP, as well as some stereo recordings of A Hard Day's Night - although I'm still working on de-hissing issues - thanks for your patience!

Also, too, I have reworked the pages for My Bonnie / The Saints and Please Please Me to include recording history for the discs, and the Please Please Me page includes a transcript of the back cover promotional text (please note - recording dates taken from table compiled by Joseph Brennan from Mark Lewisohn's "The Beatles Recording Sessions" and "The Beatles Chronicle," and is used with permission).

Finally, there is now a guest book, which I would really appreciate if you'd sign, and I hope to bring you another update very soon!

Opening - May 31st 2000
Recently, I was lucky to get my hands onto some good old fashioned vinyl records of early Beatles material, and it soon became apparent that the recordings etched into the plastic grooves may be of interest to others - not least since I had stereo copies of Please Please Me, A Hard Day's Night and Beatles For Sale.

I decided to make available to the dedicated Beatles enthusiast these recordings as I could best transfer onto computer. I'm rather pleased with the recordings so far, however there is a persistant hiss on all them, so I recommend turning down the treble if you can.

Whilst not all the material I have is available here yet, I shall endeavour to get the remaining recordings digitised as soon as possible!
