Chocolate dipped strawberries are great for any party. If you are going for a more elegant theme try Tuxedo Strawberries. Chocolate dipped strawberries look good served on a platter all by them, but added together with other snacks or Hor D'Oeuvres they are spectacular. Maybe place a few on a cheese tray, or served with sugar-dipped grapes, your options are endless. Always start with nice plump, firm strawberries. Dip your half of the strawberry into melted chocolate, let dry on wax paper. Repeat. If your chocolate is a good chocolate you might not have to dip twice. For tuxedo strawberries the next step after dipping is to drizzle melted white chocolate over the dried strawberries. Sugar dipped grapes-separate grapes into small bunch, brush egg white onto grape bunch, sprinkle with sugar until covered, set on wax paper until dry.
Another very elegant and exciting item is Truffles. You can buy them in many flavors or make your own. I like to use Truffles that have different coatings such as dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, some rolled in cocoa powder or powdered sugar. To make your own try my simple truffle recipe. Remember you can add any type of flavoring you want just substitute the vanilla. Chocolate Candy Recipes If you would rather buy your truffles, here are some of my favorite places. Dan's Chocolates

I like to use a chocolate dip along side of a cream cheese based dip. My favorite fruits to use are strawberries, pineapple, cantaloupe, and honeydew.
