The Visual Manifestation of a Saiyan Aura

Trunks Vegeta Briefs (from the future, but the biology is essentially the same), the half-human* son of Prince Vegeta, has manifested a visual aura of Saiyan energy from beneath his skin. This energy comes from the smaller energy-transmitting axons that run throughout his body, connected to his SNS. This aura is currently nothing more than the surplus of contained energy generated by his Super Saiyan 1 state; it reaches a certain distance from him and dissipates, or remains close and is reanimated. It also, at times, serves to radiate excess heat from the body. If he so chooses, he can make the effort to contain the aura, or turn it into an energy barrier. The surface axons can also function as emergency shunts, similar to steam vents, or can assist in an area-wide 360-degree blast. The aura itself is not part of any high-intensity, focused energy attack he makes; that "hot" of an attack must be funneled throught the superconducting axons and emitters in his arms and hands. (Note: Vegeta's sacrificial attack against Buu. His heated area-attack was forced through the SNS of his entire body and caused him to literally burn up.)

* -- Genetically similar to humans, Saiyans have no trouble crossbreeding with them. The offspring adheres to a more human growth pattern, their spurt phases slower and less pronounced. However, while the offspring posess their Saiyan parent's SNS and all the energy-generating and metabolic capabilities of a full Saiyan, their base physical strength is essentially halved; the bones and muscles simply do not become as dense and strong. The half-Saiyans observed during the course of Dragonball Z use their ki-energy to bolster their musclepower, so the difference is not immediately noticeable. However, under close inspection it becomes apparent that the half-Saiyans are physically weaker than their fully Saiyan companions--more suceptible to blows and going down more quickly under damage. Without his ki, a half-Saiyan can easily withstand normal Saiyan conditions, such as 10 G's of gravity, but up to 15 and he's incapacitated; a full Saiyan can handle 25 G's unassisted and still be able to passably walk. A half-Saiyan's strength is still phenomenally superior to a human's.
