Who is Giles?
(Anthony Stewart Head) Giles may no longer be Buffy's official  watcher, but he still fulfills that role, as well as that of friend. We have watched him grow and change, just as the young people he has worked with over the years. He is often the grounding force, the steadfast rock that the slayer and slayerettes count on when things get crazy. He is always there for them if they have a problem, whether with kind words or gruff acceptance. He is enough of a mature influence to push them when they need it, but also just be there when they need it.

At the same time, there is that bit of dangerous rebel that lurks just below the surface. With a hair-raising past, that we and the gang are still just learning about, "Ripper" is definately human. This wild side shows us that he is not perfect, not so unaware of the world as you can be lulled to believe. It also makes him more capable of caring for Buffy and the "scooby gang".
