Between Gorges

High up on the sheer rockface between the first and second gorges, Aboriginal paintings from around 10,000 years ago are found. They show human figures and animals such as flying foxes and a black wallaroo with a joey in its pouch. Due to the height of the paintings, there is thought to be involvement of the "mimi spirits" during the painting.
