~ SUNCAT AWARD FOR WEB EXCELLENCE ~

~ PURPOSE ~

The "SUNCAT AWARD" was created to recognize sites that demonstrate outstanding performance in the broad areas of learning, education, or information. In this sense, we are defining "learning, education, and information" very loosely.

We are looking to reward sites whose subject matter was designed to convey information or awareness to web site visitors. Ideally, these sites give back to the web community, and help people learn or understand new ideas.

Many types of sites potentially qualify for the "SUNCAT AWARD". For instance, qualified sites could include:

Sites that serve as a forum or resource around a subject...

Sites dedicated to increasing awareness about a topic or issue...

Educational, Scientific, or Social Science sites ...

A Personal site providing specific, useful information about a hobby or interest...

Information providing or resource sites...

~ AWARD CRITERIA ~

Along with the requirement that an award winning site be of informational or educational value, sites are also judged on the following:

No Pornography ! No Hate! ~ I believe in freedom of choice and that

everyone has the right to choose the content of their site. I too have that same freedom, If this is you . . . Do Not Apply!

Links, ~ Anyone sixteen (16) and over who takes the time to create a Personal site with ten (10) or more pages of real content, excluding Guest Books, Pictures only ect., deserves the same consideration as any other site, unless their site only consists of Links to other sites! C.O.P.P.A.

No ~ Broken links, although I know this can happen.

No ~ Disabled Right Click

No ~ Under construction signs, all good sites are constantly being worked on, updated and under construction.

No ~ Web Based Templates, your site must be your own creation.

Music ~ I love music, but, I feel if I don't like the music you have chosen for your site,

There must be a way to turn it off.

Must ~ have a "top" or "up" button for more than four (4) clicks per page

Good overall Design & Content ~ It must be pleasing to the eye, and be somewhat

informative. Does it make me want to come back? ( I am very into design )

Downloads ~ If your pages take too long to download, I will leave, although special consideration will be given to Heavy Graphic Sites.

Foreign Language ~ I only understand English, so your site must be in English or have

an English version/translation.

Passwords ~ If your site requires a password, I will leave! ~ No requirement to sign GB

Who Can Apply ? ~ Personal Sites ~ Resource Sites ~ Commercial Sites

Must all be Family Safe Only

"SUNCAT ART WORKS" is selective about who receives awards. However, we are very fair in our judging process, first considering the informational value of each site. In the interest of promoting award winners, we have a page of links to award winning sites, on my AWARD WINNERS page, and also my RESOURCES page.

Winning sites are not automatically added to the Award Winners Index unless;

you win our "SUNCAT AWARD" and choose to display it, that you hyperlink the award back to our site, informing us where you have it posted.

Sites who submit for an award are generally reviewed within 2-4 weeks, and judged solely by Suncat Art Works. Winners are sent their awards by email. Currently, we are only able to notify winning sites of their award .. Status page now available for you to check the Progress of your site
