Summer Internship
This site is designed to facilitate group communication for developing a manual to enhance project management for a student who
are engaged in an internship program through the Minnesota Technical Assistance Program(MnTAP) at the University of Minnesota
school of Public Health. MnTAP funds up to eight students per summer to work at companies to solve specific waste related problems
using pollution preventing solution. The manual will serve as a general guide line for the staff to follow. This manual will help staff and
students work efficiently. Many organizations provide waste management assistance. MnTAP has redefined its assistance to focus
more on pollution prevention. The student intern program was one of the first services to focus exclusively on pollution prevention
assistance.Along with this change has been an increased focus on economic and environmental impact. A successful project should
have documented financial benefit as well as documented waste reduction.
