John Peels Judgement will be playing in two variants. The first vatiant starts the gig with a half hour improvision and will be the most experimental. It will consist of two guitars, piano and Thing ( analogue sound generator ) and will emphasise the fantastic ambiant sounds produced by the Thing. The support act " Upstream Assembly " will then play for half an hour followed by the headlining second variant which will have two guitars, bass guitar, drums and Thing. Again the music will be totaly improvised with the only general direction being that it should be dark with an Eastern tinge. As lead guitarist I'll be using Diminished, Wholetone, Double Harmonic and Japanise Kumoi scales. Pasco is curently making a video to project behind us that will emphasise the emotion of the music. This visual art will be a brilliant addition to the audio experiance.
CLICK HERE for the Colchester Arts Centre web site On this home page, I include some information about the band's background and how we originally became a band. this is a free form improvisation band, we usually get together a couple of times a year to have a playing session and to see what comes out of these sessions. We had a playing session with Steve Bell with thingy to add some atmospere and generally see what could be brought to the music. We recorded this rehearsal, this recording found its way to the owner/manager of the colchester art centre. After listening to the cd he decided to give us a gig on the New music night for electric music. The band usually features, Steve.D, Kevin and Alan, we have the pleasure of being joined at the gig, with mick on guitars (a friend and playing partner of alans)and Steve Bell and thingy, when you come to the gig you will find out what thingy is...... SEE YOU ALL THERE.. |
