Details of my van
The van was originally green, its an ex Southern electric van and still has a roof vent.
The van has been in my family for some time now and has been passed around people to learn in and drive for a while. I was offered it to drive around in, as it had been stood in a drive way for about a
year in but I wasn't really interested at the time because if I was too drive it I would want to spend
money on it doing it up and respraying it and stuff, I didn't really want to drive round in a green
clapped out van (as above). So we offered to buy it and they accepted my offer for £50
(yes £50 I paid for it).So has I hadn't passed my test at this time the car stood still in my
neibours shed coming out at weekends to be driven around a field.Over the next year the car was worked on when money was available, having the usual work done on it. Rear sub frame. Petrol tank, sills rear valances and all the rest were replaced. We got it to mot standard or what we thought
was mot standard and sent it off to a mates garage to have it resrayed for cost. Choosing the colour was quite difficult as I'd seen a colour but couldn't get a code for it ( usual stuff). So as we were
waiting the a panels and other bits were replaced to help stop the rust coming through so quick.
Come the end of the summer holidays I'd passed my test and we were ready to get the car back but it still hadn't been finished so we said well finish it our self's. So we got it back and put it all back
together windows doors locks e.t.c.... then came getting it mot'd.It failed, apparently it needed work on the brakes and a fog light we were expecting the brakes but thought it didn't need a fog light but hey,
so we got all the work it needed done and it passed its mot.next came the carpet and seats and all
the rest of it.
I got the seats out of the local freeads paper and they are original corboue seats which had been remade for mini forty so mine are those seats but with out the mini forty logo (see pic). Then once the seats and carpet was in we started work on the rear interior, boxed out the wheel arches carpeted it all out and fitted the pods(speakers).
The ice install includes a wharfdale CD head unit 2x kenwood 5inch 90 watt 2x 8inch 300 watt in a ported box, and 2x 80 watt tweeters.
