Do you remember.......
Legutko's/Miller's Hot Bologna?

"Green Grass of Wyoming" , a Western, opened in 1948. Staring Charles Coburn, Peggy Cummings, and Lloyd Nolan. It was a Romeo & Juliet of the old west!
For those of you who do not remember the Drive-In which closed in the early, mid-1960's.
When the Drive-In closed, the area's first "Department" store opened called "Town & Country". The store then expanded into a "Plaza" and W.T. Grant store moved in. It expanded again with a few little stores, including Sherman Williams Paint Store on the Plaza and a large Acme grocery store on southern end. Town & Country stores (mid-1970's) closed and another store moved in for a brief period until the building was made into a warehouse. The Grant store moved to the Cressona Mall where it eventually went out when the chain closed all their stores. The former "W. T. Grant" store was made into the Plaza Bowling Alley and Rent-a-Center store which are still there today. The Acme store thrived until the early 1990's when they were sold to another grocery chain which closed all our area Acme stores. About 3 years ago Weiss Markets built one of their superstores on the site of former Acme and operates there today. The original Town & Country building was torn down and a new building built just a few years ago that holds a Hollywood Video Store and the new home of the Saint Clair and Pottsville State (Liquor) store. In 1999 a "Ruby Tuesday" restaurant was built just about where the movie screen once stood.
