Nana Visitor
Her birth name is "Nana Tucker".
Nana Visitor plays DS9's 1st Officer Colonel Kira Nerys,
She was born on the 26th July 1957 in New York, USA.
Nana was born and raised on the westside, around the theatre community. Nana's father was a choreographer, and her mother, a ballet trainer. Nana began to study ballet at the age of 7, and by the conclusion of high school she was dancing her way to Broadway.
Her other stage credits include "My One & Only," "The Ladies Room" at the Tiffany Theatre in LA, ". While still in New York, Nana appeared in the ABC daytime soaps Ryan's Hope and One Life to Live.
Nana made her feature film beginning appearing in "The Sentinel."
Since arriving in LA in 1985, Nana has appeared in many TV shows like
Empty Nest, Baby Talk, Jake and the Fatman, Murder She Wrote, In the Heat of the Night, L.A. Law and Matlock. She also starred in the part of Bryn Newhouse in the NBC sitcom Working Girl.
In a busy 2001 schedule, Visitor appeared on Broadway playing Roxie Hart in the Tony Award-winning musical "Chicago" and has also featured in Fox's Dark Angel.
She's married to Alexander Siddig, (who plays Dr Julian Bashir also in DS9). They were married on 14th June 1997 and have a son Django El Tahir El Siddig, born on the 16th September 1996.
She also has another son, Buster who's from a previous marriage.
In April of 2001, Nana and Alexander decided to divorce after their careers had taken them in different directions.
