Starting us off this month is a letter on my first CD! Steve, just wanted to let you know
that your first
Thank you. All your hard work is appreciated. Another Satisfied Customer Mark P. Thanks for the kind words Mark! I'm glad to know the CD is being enjoyed! Hopefully I can get my second one, which features 20 Black Terror stories, out in the next month or two! -Steve Decent issue, Steve. I already knew I liked Dynamic Man, and as you pointed out,the story from the current issue of All-Golden does suggest how an android could have "a brother," something I've wondered about since I've first seen Dynamic Man and Dynamic Boy. I have a lot of trouble taking Music Master's power seriously, but the Music Master was a cut above the other stories I've seen featuring the character and Downbeat was kept to a minimum (he has to be one of the most annoying sidekicks of the entire golden age). "Crash, Cork, and the Baron" is a nice little filler strip; if I were one of the triplets, I would have insisted on flying with one of the pilots other than the one called "Crash," which isn't a nick-name that would inspire confidence; I enjoyed this story much more than the Music Man adventure. Good work,
I agree with you, I hate Downbeat too but I could almost stand him in this story and even featured him in the little circle in the top left side of the cover! ;-) Anyway, glad you liked it, though I was a little dissapointed with the scans after working with the better ones on my CD for so long... -Steve I WANT to hear from you! Tell me what you liked/disliked, loved/hated about this issue! If you have a request I can't promise that I can grant it but I'll see what I can do. Just e-mail me at Steve_Rogers_Captain_America@yahoo.com thanks! -Steve -Story taken from Speed Comics #10 -Writer- (Unknown) -Penciler- Maurice Scott -Inker- Maurice Scott -A.K.A.- Charles/Bob Gibson -Known Powers- Flight, strength, electrical energy. -Known Appearances- All-New Comics 8; Green Hornet Comics 37-38; Speed Comics 1-44 Shock Gibson was Speed Comics' longest running feature, lasting the entire run. During that time he had at least 2 incarnations. The first, Charles Gibson was struck by lightning which caused a chemical and electrical reaction, resulting in Shock's powers. I'm not quite sure how long this version lasted but it was at least through #10. The second incarnation was Robert Gibson, an amateur scientist, who gave himself his powers which needed to be recharged periodically. Eventually he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Alaska. During that time his supporting cast included his Eskimo friend, Ike, Beautee Bright, and Dr. Benjamin Bright, Beautee's father and the only person who knew Bob and Shock were the same person. Samson
