There's been a flood of mail so this month I'll take care of letters on both All-Amazing #10 and Patriotic Comics #1 as well as some general comments. All-Amazing #7's letters will run in All-Amazing #9. Boy, was I glad when I happened upon your site! I LOVE golden age comics, but can't afford to buy them. It's really great to find a place where I can read them online. Now, if I can only figure out what my three favorite Golden age heroes are, I'll join your All Amazing Squadron club (There's too many choices.) Keep up the great work! Jessica I'm always glad to hear from new readers and I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the site! One quick note to anyone out there who has or plans to join the All-Amazing Squadron, I'm pretty far behind on membership cards and stationary, but I'm keeping e-mails and hope to catch up soon. In the meantime, everyone who joins is put on my mailing list for new books which is really the main function of the club. Eventually I'd like to do more with it though... Congratulations on your graduation. Hope you enjoy your new life, bro. You've outdone yourself with All-Amazing #10. I really liked the Doll Man story especially the Eisner like splash page. I also would like to thank you for Sparky Watts. He reminds me of Popeye or Li'l Abner. He's not really a superhero but an everyday guy who just happens to have superpowers. Sparky's a fun character and it's a shame he has fallen into obscurity. Maybe this story will inspire other posters to share some Sparky with us. Again thanks and good luck. Fred Thanks Fred! Here at The Golden Years, we aims to please! Sparky seems to have a pretty good fan base out there. Don't be too suprised if he shows up again sometime in the near future with Slaphappy... If you liked that Doll Man story, be sure to get my next CD (which I hope to complete VERY soon). It features 5 Black Terror, Daredevil and Doll Man stories each, plus 5 bonus stories from this site! Steve - Great Site!!! I LOVE the Green Lama!!

Thanks for the tremendous efforts

Rex You're welcome! Steve, I especially enjoyed the Commando Yank story, the story in your issue being the first complete Commando Yank story I've been able to read. I'm glad to see you using this obscure Fawcett back-up feature and I hope to see more stories from Fawcett in the future. I know you can't use any of the Marvel Family material, but it would be good to see Mr. Scarlet, Radar, and other lesser lights from the Fawcett stable. Thanks,
Let's just say that I hope Fawcett and Quality stories will become as common here as Nedor. Hello, Loved your latest issue of All-Amazing.
I get a kick out of
Richard Genereux Thanks for the kind words! Right now I don't have any Centaurs but you never know what tomorrow will bring... Hey Steve, Another generous offering!!! I just finished Doll Man and now it's on to one of my all time favorite heroes - The Blue Beetle!!! Any news on the miss coloring in the middle of the story? Keep up the good work. I really enjoy it (especially now with my high speed access). Sean P.S. OK, the villainess' name... Lora Crofte. And I read it the day Lara Croft: Tomb Raider came out. Weird. Sean, I'm glad to hear you and everyone else loved this issue! I spoke with someone on eBay recently who was selling a copy of that Doll Man issue, and it appears that it was just my copy. There are a few more pages which are miscolored in the book, but other than that (and the lack of staples and the severely bug-chewed cover) the book had few flaws. As for the Lora Crofte thing, I caught that too and I know nothing about Tomb Raider past the name! Steve, I thought the current issue featured a well-rounded lineup of significant characters, and I was especially happy to see the Doll Man story. Doll Man is one of my favorite characters and I'm grateful to read this story, which was a great one. Pity that the biographer died at the end, but I really didn't expect him to learn Doll Man's identity. Actually, I saw the ending coming on page thirteen, but that certainly didn't ruin anything for me. I like early Blue Beetle stories quite a bit, and this was a new one to me. Man O' Metal (only the second complete story of this character I've ever read) was more weirdness from H. G. Peters and I thought the artwork was better than some of his work that later appeared in 'Wonder Woman'. I've always like the strange and entertaining Sparky Watts stories, anyone who flies by flapping his arms really hard is my kind of a character, and this one is no exception. All-in-all, this is one of the best issues you've posted in awhile, which is not to say you've been slacking off. The Commando Yank and Yankee Boy stories in the last issue of 'Patriotic' were also little gems. I don't know if you can do it, but I would love to see more Quality material, especially Doll Man. Kudos,
Glad you liked it Jon! Looks like there's another one for Sparky Watts! It also appears I need more Doll Man books! I used up my supply for the CD! I do however, have a few more Quality stories to dispense... Steve, finally got a chance to read
"Patriotic Comics #1" all the way

Thanks again,
Thanks for writing Mark! I'd been kind of "iffy" on the Simon/Kirby label even up to the day I'm writing this response for the site (6-29-01). However, I was reading Captain America the Classic Years vol.2 and there were Cap. figures in there, that if put side by side with those in the Captain Freedom story, look like they could be interchanged. If it's an imitator, it's a darn good one! As for your suggestion, you'll see that I've added that to the profiles page starting this issue! Although, it's always been on the "cover" page. I'm glad to know that my work is appreciated. Ever since I started collecting comics, I've wanted to work in them. Ever since it's been my goal to become a penciler, and I've since added writer. Even if it's just for one issue. However, if that never comes to pass, I'll be happy. I work in comics right now. This site is my contribution. If after it's gone, some of my scans are still floating around, I'll be happy. If in 25 or 50 years, one or two of my CDs are still being read, I'll be happy. If one person gains one iota of knowledge from my site that enriches their appreciation of comics, I'll be happy. -Steve I WANT to hear from you! Tell me what you liked/disliked, loved/hated about this issue! If you have a request I can't promise that I can grant it but I'll see what I can do.
