Now
in its 14th year, the £123,500 Premier Snooker League is a prestigious showcase
for seven of the world's best players. The defending champion is John Higgins,
who pipped perennial fans' favourite Jimmy White in a nail-biting final last year.
Stephen Hendry,
Ronnie O'Sullivan and sensational newcomer, Marco
Fu are amongst the others hoping for a share of the prize money - and the obvious
prestige of knowing you're the most consistent snooker player of the season.

Each match is played
over eight frames, so draws are possible, with the top four qualify for the
semi-finals. In the event of a tie, League positions will be decided the most
frames scored.
Each match is over
the best of eight frames and it's two points for a win and one point for a four-all
draw. They play each other once, making a total of 21 matches.
The action takes
place at a variety of top venues across the length and breadth of Britain.
