This year's action
from the Seconda Superleague saw a gritty struggle between the four big names
of British ice hockey: the Sheffield Steelers, London Knights, Manchester Storm
and Bracknell Bees.
The Bees finally edged
it but still finished the season just five points clear of the fourth-placed London
Knights. Bracknell played superbly in their run in to the title and while the
other contenders dropped points to unfancied opponents, the Bees just refused
to lose.
In the play-offs
the inconsistent Newcastle Riverkings played above themselves to beat the Steelers
on their way to the final. But they were eventually undone by the hard-edged London
Knights who triumphed 7-3 to win the season's final game. |
