US PGA Tour : SEI Pennsylvania Classic

Tiger Woods
After another Tiger Woods tour win at the Bell Canadian Open, the field at the SEI Pennsylvania Classic at the Waynesborough Country Club in Paoli, Pennsylvania, will be delighted that the biggest name in golf won't be appearing on the leader-board this weekend. By picking up the title in Oakville, Ontario, Tiger became the first player since Lee Trevino (1971) to win the US, British and Canadian Opens in a single season.

He now has nine tour victories under his belt for the year - the most since Sam Sneed won 11 all the way back in 1950 - and according to Grant Waite he is playing well enough to eclipse that record before the season is over. Waite lost to Woods by a single shot at the Bell Canadian Open and he reckons his 21-under total of 267 would have been good enough to beat any other player.

This week, however, the rest of the US Tour can breath a collective sigh as they compete for the very first - and completely Tiger-less - SEI Pennsylvania Classic. However the $3.2 million prize fund has still attracted some illustrious names - with the favourites for the title including Carlos Franco, Bob May and the veteran Tom Lehman.
