The Hornets are
buzzing aftert smashing their transfer record by completing the double signing
of Scandinavians Allan Nielsen and Espen Baardsen from Tottenham. Danish international
Nielsen completed his £2.25million move and shattered the Hornets' previous
record of £1.5million for Heidar Helguson in January. Baardsen's £1.25million
fee makes him the club's first seven-figure goalkeeper.
Watford boss
Graham Taylor said: "I hope it shows the dressing room that after finding
the Premiership a bit too hot to handle, our intention is to get back as
soon as possible and have another crack at it." And that is exactly
what they are capable of doing, hence the encouraging odds on a top six
finish.

A season in
the Premiership will have given Taylor's side a great deal of experience
and they are unlikely to find the First Division forward lines as punishing
as those in the top flight. With the addition of Nielsen and Baardsen, the
Hornets are a better side than when they won promotion two years ago and
the play-offs look like a very sound bet indeed.
