Capacity: 10,046
Year Formed: 1877
Manager: Dario Gradi
Chairman:
Mr. J. Bowler
In:
Efe Sodje (Colchester, Free, Ademole Bankole (QPR, free), Dean Howell (Notts County, Free)
Out:
Mark Foran (Bristol Rovers, £75,000), Mark Beeston (Hyde United, Free), Marcus Bignot (Bristol Rovers, free), Lee Unsworth (Bury, free)

Rodney Jack
As coaches and tacticians go, they don't come much smarter than Dario Gradi. With such limited resources, Gradi deserves medal for the way he has transformed the Alex from amateurish to a class footballing outfit. As ex-Crewe starlet David Platt pointed out on his return to the club as Forest boss last season - 'no-one has an easy game against Crewe. They are clever and they are tough.'

Which just about sums up Gradi. Still, it was a great achievement to stay up last term (19th) and this season will surely be another struggle for survival. However, if St Vincent international striker Rodney Jack can find the net on a regular basis, then Gradi's men should be clear of the drop zone come May.

Colin Little

Other signings include Efe Sodje (Luton, free) and Dean Howell (Notts County, free). The key men are Jack, Colin Little and Shaun Smith...oh and of course Gradi. Little or no chance of the play-offs but mid-table is a possibility.
