2000 X-Games: Moto X

Sixteen-year-old Travis Pastrana was looking to successfully defend the Freestyle MotoX crown that he won last year - promptly flying into the bay in celebration last year. But with the ramps positioned even further away from the water - would he dare repeat his antics if he won this time?

The step-up event - that's a Moto X high-jump to you and me - was being contested for the first time - watch out for Tommy Clowers there. The 27-year old broke a wrist last year which doctors say will never fully heal - although he was still the favourite going into the event.

X-Games: X-tra:

Over 350 of the world's top extreme sports athletes competed in the 2000 X-Games - organised by American television station ESPN - which took place from 17th-22nd August in San Francisco.

Nearly $1m in prize money was up for grabs in a variety of extreme disciplines - Aggressive In-Line Skating, Bicycle Stunt, Freestyle Moto X, Skateboarding, Skysurfing, Sportclimbing, Street Luge and Wakeboarding - all infront of the picturesque San Francisco Bay.
