X-Games: BMX
Two
wheeled legend Dave Mirra - who has already won ten X-Games
medals - was the red-hot favourite to make it a perfect dozen on both the
vert ramp and park course. Mirra last didn't win a BMX X-Games gold three
years ago, and has a total haul of 8 gold and two silver from the five Games
so far.

Travis Pastrana was looking to successfully defend the Freestyle MotoX crown
that he won last year - promptly flying into the bay in celebration last year.

brothers - 16-year-old Eito and 14-year-old Takeshi - were looking to rewrite
the X-Games history books by becoming the first brothers to win medals in
the same event, and entered the vert ramp competition as hot favourites.

Bucky Lasek and Pierre-Luc Gagnon going head-to-head

Wakeboarding's leading contender is Orlando's Darin Shapiro, the most decorated
wakeboarder in the sport's history. His main opposition is cross-city rival
Shaun Murray, and another competitor from Florida, Shane Bonifay.
