Olympic
Basketball, Sydney
Once
again this event is going to be all about Team USA and the latest incarnation
of the 'Dream Team'. Even the official Olympic website
admits that: "everyone knows the gold will be going home with Kevin Garnett
, Tim Duncan,
Gary Payton and the rest of the US Team". And looking at their All-Star
NBA line-up, who could argue with that?

Dairylea Dunkers
Championship 1999/2000
Last season was another
slamdunking spectacular for British basketball with the Manchester Giants eventually
running out winners after a climactic final against the Birmingham Bullets. The
regular season had been dominated by three teams the London Towers, the
Sheffield Sharks, and the Manchester Giants so it was no surprise when
the Giants came out on top on 6 May at the Wembley Arena.

NBA: So just how
good are the LA Lakers?
They may have only
picked up one title, but already the debate is raging as to whether Shaquille
O'Neal and the Lakers will form a basketball dynasty to compare with teams like
Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls and Larry Bird's Boston Celtics. And despite their patchy form in the play-offs and the fact that they have not had to come from
behind in any of their series, the verdict seems to be that the Lakers are here
to stay.
