THE SWAMP YANKEE SOLO CANOE

Built By

BLACK CREEK SMALL BOAT

Right side stitched in place. More to come, but I had to strip some 14 gage copper wire to go further.

Here is a closer view. I started to use some very thin steel wire (because that is what I had. Plan is to replace all of the steel with either plastic wire ties or copper before I epoxy any more. The wire ties work great where there is not much tension, but you need the strength of the copper wire in key places to draw the sides into shape.

Here is a shot from a bit farther back. You can see both spreaders. I have a cement block on each side with a 2x2 clamped to them. It has helped to hold the canoe in place while I pull the sides in.

More to come as I make progress.
