Memory

How much memory should I have installed in my computer? If you only use your computer for word processing or browsing the internet, 32-64MB of RAM should be sufficient. If you play intense 3D games, or work with sound and/or graphic files then 128-256MB should be installed. To determine how much of your current memory is being used, click Start, Programs, Accessories, System tools then System Monitor. If all you see is Kernet Processor Usage listed, add Memory Manager by clicking Edit, Add Item, Memory Manager then Allocated Memory from the menu area of the System Monitor window. Once you save, you should have two graphs in the window. The lower graph shows you how much memory your system is currently using. If your system is using close to or all of your current memory, it is time to add more.
