CD-ROM
My CD is stuck in my CD-ROM
drive, how do I get it out? Most CD-ROM drives
today come with a small hole on the face of the drive. If a CD
ever gets stuck in the drive and pressing the eject button does
not eject the CD, insert a straightened paper clip into the hole
and gently push. It may take a few tries but eventually you will
be able to open the tray just far enough to be able to pull it
open. CAUTION:
Never try to open or close the CD tray while the system is off.
The laser head of the drive is not locked into place when the
power is off; and if the tray is moved in this state, the
positioning of the laser head may be disrupted and may cause your
CD-ROM drive not to work properly or at worst, not at all.
