When setting up a freshwater aquarium not only do you want it to
look great but you also want to make it a comfortable living environment
for your fish. Tropical aquariums need a light, a heater anda filter. An
air pump is also a good idea to airate the water. When buying plants
make sure you don't buy too many since overcrowding an aquarium can be bad
for the fish.
When I set up my aquarium I researched a fair bit before I went out and bought
anything. This is the plan I tried to stick to.
And this is how it turned out.
As you can see it is quite similar except I did not buy short plants for the front of
the aquarium. I did this to give the fish a large swimming area and also a large area
to hide.
At the moment it is working out extremely well. This fish are happy (I can tell because
two of my Neon Tetras were doing a mating dance.) This plan has worked well for me
and I recomend it for anyone who is setting up their first aquarium.
