Hints & Tips

Tank Setups - When setting up your new aquarium make sure you do not overcrowd your aquarium. Yes your fish do need areas to hide but they also need areas to swim.

Feeding - When feeding your fish only feed them as much as they can eat within 4 minutes. You can feed your fish more than once a day but when you feed them more than two times you lose count of how much you have given them and overfeeding fish is not good at all. I recomend feeding your twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. Also remember fish like a variety so every second day or so feed them live food such as brine shrimp.

Lighting - The light of an aquarium is very important. Plants in an aquarium should have about twelve hours of light every twenty four hours. If you provide enough light your plants should thrive. If they do not get enough light they will turn brown and die leaving your aquarium looking extremely unhealthy.

Fish - When buying fish for your aquarium make sure you do not over populate your aquarium as a lot of beginners do this. Also to help you out buy one or more algae eaters since ther help keep your aquarium spick and span. A bottom feeder is also a good idea so that all the food your other fish miss will be picked up.
