"SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron" is an excellent cartoon that
takes place in Megakat City. This is a hi-tech advanced place where human-like
"kats" (cats) live. However, some evil unique super-villains live here
too. These guys manly want to takeover the city, but unfortunately the
Enforcer teams can't handle them. That's where the SWAT Kats come in!
These
two are brave kats in disguise who cruse the skies in the Turbokat, a jet
built by themselves. They always save the city using some hi-tech device
when the Enforcers can't handle it (usually all the time). However,
through all the times these kats have saved the day, nobody has ever found
out who they actually are. Well, when the SWAT Kats aren't battling villians,
they're really just two normal mechanics who work alone in the Megakat
City Auto-Shop. Underground, beneath the auto yard is their secret hangar
where they keep the Turbokat & their other gadgets. For info about
the individual kats, visit
The
Characters page.
The show ran from '93 to '95 and had a total of 2 seasons. Unfortunately, Ted Turner canceled it for no apparent reason, but at least the reruns are being shown on Cartoon Network. For episode info check out The Episodes page. There was also some SK merchandise including a video game and some action figures, videos, animation cels, etc.
