Ram: Do you know arunachala

Om: yes.... Sri Ramana Maharshi

Ram: Ho dow you came to know of Ramana

Om: many in America read the writings concerning Ramana Maharshi,... the main publisher of such books here is Shambala Press

Om: in Manhattan, there are quite a number of bookstores devoted entirely to books on Hinduism, Buddhism, Jain, Sikh, Zoroastrian,... and other types of Eastern Spirituality

Ram: Who in your opinion is Ramana

Om: well....of course... there is Ramana's own notion, or realization that He is Bhagwan.... I do have a page at the website on Ramana Maharshi

Om: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Atlantis/3425/page153.htm In What Way is Guru Bramha, Vishnu and Maheshwara? - Page 153

Ram: Do you follow his path

Om: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Atlantis/3425/page158.htm Is Satya Sai Baba Avatar/Guru? - Page 158

Om: in some sense, I suppose I do follow Ramana's teachings.... my main task is this website... and the various messages it conveys....

Om: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Atlantis/3425/page002.htm Meher Baba - On the Avatar Page 2

Om: these pages I am citing are helpful in answering your question, who is Ramana

Ram: I m a follower of Ramana.Do you practice self-enquiry

Om: yes,.... in a sense....

Ram: Have you had any spiritual experiences

Om: page 1 of my website discusses one experience in detail

Ram: Do you know of Sri Chandrasekharendra saraswati (Shankaracharya of kanchi)

Om: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Atlantis/3425/page052.htm Vision in the Masjid Wall - Page 52

Om: page 52 discusses another spiritual experience briefly

Ram: I will not be able to see your web site now

Om: I am familiar with that Shankaracharya of the 8th or 9th century, who wrote Bhaje Govindam..... Govindam bhaje mudhe mate, symprapte san-ee-hee-te kale, nahi nahi rakshatee drkrm karane

Ram: Om have you seen Ramana

Ram: Om do yoou have a guru

Om: well, of course, Ramana died around 1950, and I was born in 49

Om: I have seen photographs of Ramana

Ram: His eyes are said to shower Grace

Om: there are no Gurus in New York City... (there are business men who call themselves Gurus...)...

Om: yes.... that is my understanding

Ram: Have you been to Arunachala

Om: I have never been outside America

Ram: I have gone around arunachala, and I gone to the top too

Om: that must be nice

Ram: I always carry a piece of arunachala with me

Om: that is good

Ram: I want to have a vision of Ramana

Om: I am sure you will when you are ready

Ram: Do you know anything about the Vedas

Om: some things, not everything

Ram: In India people are slowly forgetting their tradition. They want to look and live as Americans

Om: true.... the world wants to imitate America, and its MacDonald's hamburger culture

Ram: Are you an American

Om: yes.... born in New York City.... my first ancestors came from England to America in 1632

Ram: Will you ever come to India

Om: no

Ram: Why

Om: I am old, my health is poor, it is expensive.... also... I do not like the idea of being on the same continent where an islamic nation is present....

Ram: Do you hate islam

Om: well, unfortunately, it is the embodiment of every evil and it is a source of spiritual defilement even to be near-by muslims, masjids, etc...

Om: the fundamental message of the koran is the enslavement of all humanity...

Om: To Download The Qur'an in English Translated with 3 simultaneous translations by Yusufali, Pickthall and Shakir: http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Launchpad/2291/index.html

Ram: A spiritual person cannot harbour hate towards anything or anybody

Om: yes... but you must recognize evil... and avoid it... hitler and the nazis were the same sort of evil....

Om: it is not necessary to hate the butcher... but it is not necessary to eat meat, or visit his bloody shop either....

Om: you recognize the butcher for what he is... and you use his proper name Butcher... you dont disguise him as something else and call him Florist

Ram: Good and bad are only as far as there is mind.We need not worry about them.Evil is also part of God's play

Om: true.. but.. unfortunately, without World War II,.. we would all be living under Nazi tyrrany right now,... and I am afraid that one day, it will be World War III which will save us from Islamic tyranny

Ram: The wise man lives in the NOW

Om: but.. you initially asked me why I will not come to india... and it is the same reason I would not go to jerusalem or israel,... I do not care to travel in, throught or near islamic nations

Om: if the muslims conquer YOU, then you will be living in a NOW which is a prison.. that is.... if they allow you to remain alive...

Ram: Did not Ramana say that the world was made by God.Its problems are his lookout

Om: God was looking out when Hitler and the Nazis were in power,... thats why the Allies won World War II....God was looking out for Arjuna in Kurukshetra, too

Ram: I appreciate you for being practical and honest. But still our business is only to enquire Who am I

Om: well... I have come to believe that it is my particular job in this life to write the messages to the world which are at my website...

Om: of course, I could be mistaken... noone can know such things with scientific certainty

Ram: DO YOU BELEIVE IN REBIRTH

Om: yes, certainly...

Om: but I also believe that one must

Om: do ones own Dharma

Om: as Lord Krsna instructed Arjuna...

Om: and sometimes, that Dharma involves war

Ram: Ramana said The essence of Gita is self enquiry. The rest is for childish souls who think Krishna is the body

Om: true... but the political peace and freedom of speech and belief which allows individuals like Ramana, Ramakrishna, Ghandhi, Dalai Lama, Mother Theresa to exist..... that peace is won and maintained by violent wars

Om: you see, in Gita, Lord Krsna explains something very important, and obviously true, even to the most casual observer... saying (and I paraphrase): At any given moment of time, out of THOUSANDS of people, hardly ONE even seeks to attain ME, ...

Om: .... AND out of THOUSANDS who DO SEEK to attain ME....

Om: ... hardly ONE comes to know My true nature..

Om: so.... in any century... there are only a minority of devotees in society... and only one or two Ramanas, Ramakrsnas, Ghandis, Mother Theresa's ....etc etc

Ram: If you think Ramana needs a war to maintain his freedom of speech I should say You have completely missed the point

Om: and where would Ramana's ashram have been, under Saudi Arabian rule, or Afghanistani taliban rule?

Om: I think perhaps it is YOU who miss the point... for every one GURU, even the genuine ones... there must be many soldiers, and also many cooks, and garbage collectors, and carpenters,.... etc

Ram: Ramana is not his body.Dont think of him as his body

Om: and why would the conversation of Gita take place on a battlefield,... rather than a nice peaceful, quiet ashram?

Om: you are evading the question

Om: or issue

Ram: I am not evading any issue. You should look out for the highest teachings of Gita which says surrender to me and leave everything else.

Ram: Gita cannot be properly understood by those outside Indian culture, without proper guidance

Om: well... it seems by your words you perhaps totally misunderstand some of its most obvious aspects....

Om: and in a sense, your statement is the same sort of cop-out that mulsims use.. saying the koran can only be understood in original arabic by devout muslims

Om: Gandhi once said...do not advice me to find PEACE by retreating to peaceful situations (like ashrams).... certainly there is PEACE in peace,... but what good is that to me...????

Om: ... peace is only of value to me if I can find it in the midst of WAR, turmoil,... a battlefield, like Kurukshetra...

Ram: Your hate for muslims is clouding your capaciy to think.Dont label and brand any particular set as evil

Om: after the muslims have converted Ramana's ashram at arunachala into a masjid... we may continue this discussion, and you can enlighten me as to your indian understanding of the Gita..(with proper guidance of course)...

Ram: The sad thing is you think Of a Guru has another person like us,probably more knowledgeable.

Om: your pity is founded in your own arrogance and complacency

Ram: You have easily been provoked into indecency

Om: you dislike what does not agree with your own view of things, and you see that as indecent...

Om: when india is no longer a democracy, and no longer a home for Sanatan Dharma, it is devotees like you, with your attitudes , which will hammer the final nails in the coffin

Ram: Then what about the arrogace and complacency part

Om: when india is no longer a democracy, and all mandirs have become masjids... who will share in the fault and the blame, me or YOU?

Ram: Well I dont want to turn a discussion into a meaningless fight .We dont need the net for that

Om: I do not think it will be me... for even though I am on the other side of the globe.. I have addressed the world with words of warning

Om: I hardly think this dialogue is meaningless... in fact, it illustrates many important principles

Ram: Like?

Om: when I post it to the internet.. you may study it at your leisure...

Ram: Did not Ramana say during world war 2 that Gnanis can start and stop wars but is this what they have come for

Om: time will tell.... we shall see.... time will tell all.... .... certainly Lord Krsna could have stopped the battle at Kurukshetra, but He did not....

Ram: Lord Krishna says that a wise person will not see the difference between aperson of high birth and a dog.Of course this is for advanced souls

Om: when the muslim imams have you walking on your kaphir leash.... I will know that you have achieved your enlightenment... ha ha

Ram: I dont claim enlightenment. But our purpose is to search for the highest truth

Om: one day you can tell that to the mullahs in the sharia court

Ram: You have been influenced by some predictions of future

Om: my website and message is available to the public.... read it or not... as you choose... agree with it, or not, as you choose.... but my message will not change, and it will not go away

Ram: What can I say? I will conclude saying our business is only to enquire Who am I
