Kalliniki: What does "Hari Om" mean?

Sitaram: YOU STILL there??

Kalliniki: Yes. What does "Hari Om" mean?

Sitaram: OK.... Hari... is a name of Lord Vishnu

Sitaram: But.. it also comes from a word which means.. I believe.. to draw.. to attract... so Lord Vishnu draws.. attracts souls.. in Bhakti

Sitaram: And OM is the most sacred syllable of Mantra... which is included in most prayers. mantras... and even in Gita... Lord Krsna says... "Of sacred syllables and mantras, I am the OM

Kalliniki: See, I was meditating on a dream I had of Vishnu. Then, he appeared in my psychic awareness, and told me to say the phrase "Hari Om" whenever to engage in thought of him.

Kalliniki: What does "Hari Om" mean in that context?

Sitaram: It is just an aid... a help for you to come closer in devotion.... if you are having such experiences.. you need not trouble yourself about "meanings of words" and "reasons for things"... such thoughts about words and reasons.. is taking a step backwards

Kalliniki: Since I worship Jesus Christ, too, will Vishnu or Jesus Christ be jelous, because I am bitheist? (worshiping two gods.)

Sitaram: God is beyond all jealosy.. this is a human concept... and God mafests every form.. and is also Forlmess

Kalliniki: Yes. Ihave been having mind religious problems lately...see... my conscious mind embraces my new religious ways, but my deep, subconscious still believes in the regular Christian beliefs. This is because of years of indirect brainwashing! How do I let my conscious beliefs also become my subconscious beliefs???

Sitaram: Avoid discussing your inner beliefs and feelings with many people.. especially immature young people at school.... find a select few.. perhaps on internet.. who believe as you do.. this is Satsang.. companionship with the Truth

Kalliniki: In Hinduism, is it good- perhaps necessary to have a Sabboth for your god? In Christianity, I celebrate Christ's sabboth on Sunday.

Sitaram: Since God tolerates all the different religions, Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism , Judaism, and accepts the worship of all, why do you trouble yourself about what is in your heart.. simply follow what is in your heart

Kalliniki: My heart is at tug-of-war with itself.

Sitaram: You must surrender...

Sitaram: Your problem.. is.. you listen too much to people around you.. to society

Kalliniki: To myself and materialism, right?

Sitaram: Yes...

Sitaram: You live in a society which does not like Lord Vishnu...

Sitaram: I keep loosing connection on phone

Kalliniki: Should I reserve a day to worship vishnu? Like a Vishnu Sabboth???

Sitaram: You are making things too complicated.. you are worrying too much about details.... simply consecrate every day to God.. in all Names and Forms.. and use every spare moment to inwardly meditate and worship...

Kalliniki: Why does everyone dispise Lord Vishnu? Even my brother, called Lord Vishnu a piece of shit!

Sitaram: Many people in this country despise God in any name or form.. and a large majority of people are simply indifferent or play lip service to the idea of religion and worship and piety.. look at baseball games, when national anthem is played.. how everyone bows their head in false piety.. as if a baseball game had anything to do with our national anthem.. or as if our national anthem really had anything to do with the worship of Divinity

Sitaram: That is why I advise you to keep quiet.. and be secret about your worship and faith... just like Jesus said..."Do not cast your Pearls before swine.. for the pigs will trample the pearls.. and turn upon you and attack you too

Kalliniki: I told on my brother to my Mom for calling Vishnu shit and she thought nothing of it!

Kalliniki: By the way, she's a strict Christian.

Kalliniki: Please respondto my IM about Vishnu and shit.

Kalliniki: Do you not desire to converse with me? Have I offended you in any way?

Sitaram: NO.. I keep loosing my phone connectiion

Kalliniki: Oh- very well then.

Sitaram: And.. at the time.. I was also doing chores in kitchen...

Sitaram: I had answered you already about your brother and Vishnu...hold on

Sitaram: Here it is again:.. that is why I advise you to keep quiet.. and be secret about your worship and faith... just like Jesus said..."Do not cast your Pearls before swine.. for the pigs will trample the pearls.. and turn upon you and attack you too

Sitaram: What more can I say... avoid converstations and arguments..

Sitaram: If someone says something nasty.. just say.. "Well you have free will, and are entitled to your opinion.. but I do not care to discuss such things."

Kalliniki: I told on my brother for calling Vishnu "a piece of shit", and my mother said, "Oh come on!" in a sarcastic tone.

Sitaram: Well.. your mother is wrong to encourage her children to ridicule anyones beliefs or faith or religion... or to encourage or condone profanity... such permissiveness eventually leads to things like Nazi Holocaust exterminations

Sitaram: One step leads to another.. when we ridicule others.. or trample upon their freedom of belief and worship

Kalliniki: She didn't care, because she doesn't believe in Hinduism.

Kalliniki: She doesn't take my new relgion seriously. She thinks it is a phase and obession.

Sitaram: So.. lets say your mother is permissive to your brother.. about insulting your beliefs.. so next week.. he feels bolder and insults a Muslim regarding Mohammed.. so the Muslim pulls a knife or gun and kills him... so.. that is Karmic justice....

Kalliniki: She also resents me when I take a statue of Ganesha with me on trips. I just really feel close to that statue.

Sitaram: Well... in a few short years.. you will be grown up and on your own.. and then you can build your own life and family.. and marry someone who shares your beliefs.. and raise your children accordingly

Sitaram: What are your father's beliefs

Kalliniki: I don't want a spouse, children, or sex. My father is just a plain Christian- doesn't belong to any Chroistian sect.

Sitaram: Well.. how did you come to your beliefs... if no one in your family is Hindu.... im just curious...

Kalliniki: Dad is happy that I explore new avenues of interest. However, he too, doesn't take my love of Hinduism seriously.

Sitaram: What first got you interested in Hindu faith

Kalliniki: I read books and meditated on my new knowledge. I re-evaluated my beliefs and values and found that both Christianity and Hinduism work for me. Studying the metaphysical got me involved in Hinduism.

Sitaram: So.. it really happened all by itself.. through reading.. and no person influenced you...

Sitaram: But.. you are of Indian ancestry.. yes....

Kalliniki: Correct.

Sitaram: Were your grandparents Hindu on either side... or was your mother raised Hindu

Sitaram: Or your father??

Kalliniki: Nope- not a drop of Indian blood. Italian and Irish grandparents.

Sitaram: Wait.. you mean you have no indian ancestry.. is that correct

Kalliniki: Yes.

Sitaram: Hmmmm.... and all along.. I thought you did have some ancestry..

Kalliniki: I am pale...lol =)

Sitaram: Well... me tooo.. did you see my picture??

Sitaram: So we are two slices of Hindu White Bread (Wonder Bread!)

Sitaram: Not even brown crusts!!
