Si Fu's Corner

This site is dedicated to my mother, Lillian G. Collins, who passed April 23, 2002.

I want to thank those friends, students and families who had my family in their prayers, hearts and minds on that day of morning. She will be greatly missed.

Update from tournament July 2002

More tips on training and martial arts techniques will be on this page as well.

the new Fighting Dragons?

The new Fighting Dragons? This picture was taken in my back yard during the beginning of the Summer, the end of the 2001-02 school year. As the weather got hotter and the injury that I sustained at work worsened, I found it necessary to teach class at home. These students coming from the class formed while at University City HS, from January 2002 to June 2002, have endured 95+ weather on Tuesdays and Thursdays of each week for their love of the martial arts. I want to take these kids to Jamaica to compete, but the money is not there, the support is not there. In the past I have busted my --- to get students to tournaments, even going in debt. I can't now. We are looking for sponsors to help us. If you have a donation or ideas to get sponsors, contact me at sifulung@aol.com

Look at the dragon below. Watch how the wings push effortlessly to keep it flying. Use knowledge to soar...

General Tips

In this area I'll include a list of general tips. I'll add to this list as the season goes on. For example:

Go with the Flow.
Many times I have said this to students who do not relax in the execution of movements., whether in forms, exercising or sparring. The same goes in life. You must be fluid and adjust like water hitting against the biggest rock at the ocean' crest. Eventually you will wear your obstacle down. It just takes time.
