My name is Shawn Howlett and I am an eighth generation Newfoundlander and proud of it. I was actually born in Ontario but I have spent 20 of the 30 years of my life on the beautiful island we fondly call "The Rock". I currently reside in British Columbia but I always look back to the east. This is one of the reasons I am creating this website; to provide a little bit of "home" for those abroad and to give newcomers a glimpse of what the province has to offer
I traveled extensivly across Canada and have seen many great areas. I grew up near St.John`s ,NF. ,went to college in Corner Brook ,NF.I started university at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay ,ON.,and I finished my bachelor of science in Forestry at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC. I love the outdoors and that was a big factor leading to my choice of career. This site will feature many aspects that I love about Newfoundland.
ICEBERG VIEWED FROM the EAST COAST TRAIL I enjoy hiking, fishing, swimming, skiing, photography, mechanics, and playing guitar. My kids are my number one hobby but I still try to make time to do some of the other things I love to do. This site will list some of the scenic places to see in Newfoundland as well as some unique photos of the province. GOULDS-where I grew up |
