Why are Sabbat Salubri vampires limited to 10-12th generation?
That limit is just for Player Characters.
First, there are no 13th generation Sabbat Salubri for a simple reason. The Sabbat Salubri write up in "GTTS" reveals they are taking their time to properly indoctrinate their childer. They have to teach them about the evil Camarilla, the evil Tremere, the fall of the Salubri, the ways of Valeren, etc. In other words, if the Player doesn't purchase lower generation, he starts as a member of the last group of Salubri to graduate from "finishing school".
It has been revealed that Adonai (the Sabbat Salubri Founder) did indeed diablerize his sire, making him 8th Generation. Since joining the Sabbat he has lowered his Generation to 7th. So, why no 8th & 9th Generation Sabbat Salubri player characters? I believe White wolf is attempting to create a buffer between the Player characters and the Bloodline Founder. Playing the childe of a Bloodline Founder can become just as large a problem as playing the childe of an Antediluvian. Especially, when so little has been revealed about the Salubri Founder -- we don't know what he looks like, his personality, current location etc. Grandchilder don't need to know this stuff.
