Who (or what) are the Children of Osiris?
Back in pre-Eygpt, Osiris and Set fought over rulership. When Osiris won, he banished Set to the desert. Later, a vampire called Typhon came to see Osiris, and eventually embraced him.
Set returned, having been embraced as a vampire in the Second City. At first Set used trickery to trap Osiris, but Osiris escaped. Battling Orisis in physical combat, using the powers of vampirehood, Set won again. This time ripping Osiris to pieces and scattering them.
Isis (a mage) was able to gather the pieces of Osiris, and restore Osiris to undeath using a special ritual involving his childer's blood. Set returned and destroyed Osiris and almost all of Osiris's childer. Osiris had only one surviving childe, Khetamon, who fled to India and started a group called "The Childern of Osiris".
Supposedly Khetamon and his followers do not embrace out of respect for the now dead Osiris. For it was said that Osiris had lost the power to sire after being restored to unlife through the power of Isis's magic. Some Osirians mistake Khetamon as being Osiris. As they do not embrace, they are technically a Sect; recruiting vampires from other bloodlines. Recruits have the Disciplines they bring with them, and are taught the Discipline of Bardo.
It is said (Storyteller Handbook) that all the Children of Osiris have been destroyed during the Final Nights... The Setites have won.
