The Camarilla, in its infinite, oft-hypocritical and tradition-bound wisdom considers "clans" to be consanguinities of vampires that have "always" existed. That's how it's always been, so that's how it should be in the Camarilla's opinion. The Brujah have been around since the conceit of "generations" arose, while the Daughters of Cacophony, Samedi, etc. have appeared only recently. Of course, they may have been around since the dawn of time, but the Camarilla as an entity doesn't know/believe that, so it's bloodline status for the singer-girls. Also, one of the creepy things about the Camarilla is that they still put stock in the concept of generation. If there was no Caine/Antediluvians, just who are they claiming to be so few steps from? Food for thought."
