First Generation Vampires???
Ok, the beginning of the plot... When Clanbook Assamite was written, it listed Haqim as being 2nd Generation. Later, the author of Clanbook Assamite has said that when he wrote the book, he considered Caine to be of 0th generation. Caine's childer being the 1st generated, or one step away from Caine. Thus Haqim being two steps from Caine, is Second generation.
Normally, Players and Storytellers count Caine as not only being the 1st vampire, but the 1st generation of the vampires. Caine's childer form the Second generation, their childer form the Third generation.
However, WW may have taken advantage of the misunderstanding and included it in VRE. They mention that some vampires believe there was a "generation of vampires" between Caine and the 2nds. The 2nd through 14th generations still remains the same in power and abilities, but whether the counting system originally began at 0 or 1 becomes a question.
