Anti-Link: Interlude: Requiem

“Your friends don’t care. They left you behind. Gladly too! Who wants a person who has no use among them. No purpose.” Link said with a sneer. Mi sat on the floor in front of him. Unable to move in the fields of magic he had around him. She sat calmly, just listening, saying nothing.
“Even that one-Mi Shen doesn’t care about you. He attacked you without any remorse or hesitation.” He looked at her face, still sneering before pacing back to his throne. “And Zelda-that whore! She gives you false hopes.”
“Hmm? What’d you say?” Mi said, yawning and looking up at him without seeming to acknowledge his entire speil. He growled, and with a flick on his hand slammed her against the wall before him, to leave her breathless on the ground again. It was the only way he could get her to bow to him. The only way he got anyone to.
“Fine. Then you will serve me another way.” He said with an evil smile playing towards the corners of his lips. Mi’s head shot up. Something about the tone of his voice scared her more than ever before. As she looked around her two balls of light transformed into two haggard old women.
“Koume, Kotake. Dispense of her!” Link said with a wider, and more evil smile upon his face. Mi’s eyes widened as they closed in on her.
“No-----!” was the only sound that echoed out of the Throne room.

As they open their eyes Mai and Makera look at each other with a strange understanding. They begin in unison, "Did you-okay then." And stop at that.
Yu looks at them with a confused expression, but asks nothing.
Ki looks up at the great Spirit temple with awe, "awwwww! It's against tradition to come here! This is the sacred place!" She sounds worried.
Mi Shen winces as the harsh sunlight beams on his back. "Sheesh... it's hot..."
"At least you have fur ..." Mai says, grumbling as well.
"That makes it worse..." Mi Shen glares.
Corqren sighs. "Fur makes you more hot..." he pulls on his collar.
"It might but it means less sunburn later." She raised a hand to her eyes, looking up at the afternoon sun.
"Hey .. anyone wonder how it can be day here though we were in the temple of the forest at night?"
"Mi Shen's the worst off. he's got black hair and outfit." Ax grins.
Corqren looks at her. "Not a clue. Maybe time passed while we were at the chamber?"
"Even more reason to head out!" Makera says to interrupt their petty conversation. Makera then heads towards the Desert Collosus. Mi Shen heads ahead of her, covering his head. Yu stares at the scar across Mi Shen's back, wondering what it was from, before heading at a more sedate pace than the res towards the Colossus. Mai shrugs and heads forward along with Corqren.
Ax looks forward jealously, yelling, "I don't need to take off MY SHIRT to withstand the sun!" But wishes he had an excuse to in front of Yu. Yu nearly facefaults at Ax's remark. Corqren runs in with Mi Shen covering his neck with his hands. Mai follows closely behind, Yu appears behind her a few seconds later, and then gets pushed forward as Ax comes to a late stop, hitting Mai, Corqren, Mi Shen, Ki, and finally knocking Makera completely over. Makera looked back at the group with a look of sheer frustration. Mai, Ki and Yu all flinch backwards at the look from Makera. Ax smiles nervously scratching his head. Mi Shen gets up and casually whacks ax upside the head.

Makera walked into the room with amazing outward calm, the rest of the party trailing behind, looking either bored or tired. Suffice to say the Gerudos knew their way with traps.
Mi Shen glares at Ki. "The Gerudos really liked to used spikes didn't they?"
Ki laughs nervously, "Hehe .. a hehe ... well, don't blame me I'm not technically a Gerudo!" And she scampers off behind Yu as protection.
     "Technically..." he grumbles
Makera looks back, exhaling heavily, remembering all the stupid traps and annoyingly cliche rooms with the innumerable amount of switches. She looked forward again to peer at the room more carefully. "GOD DAMNIT! IT'S A DEAD END!" She said, finally snapping and stopping her foot against the ground a few times before standing up straight and perfectly calm.
     "Perfect..." Corqren sighs
Yu looks forward, walking past Makera as if it's nothing, and staring directly at the Suit of armor which was all that adorned the room. Mi Shen follows her looking at it intently.
Makera frowns towards the ground, thinking bitterly, "All I have to show for it is this stupid shield ..." She looks at her reflection in it's surface. "What use is this? It'd probably scratch REALLY easily ..."
Makera walks up and taps the armor saying, "anybody home? Oh well." And turning around, she stops though as the Axe in it's hands falls towards the floor. She turns around to see that it didn't fall-it had been swung, and Yu and Mi Shen were both walking away from the armor slowly.
     "This ain't good!" Ax yelps.
Makera looks back completely, and jumps backwards as the armor swings towards her, and looks down at a thin line of blood oozing from her chest where the axe had, luckily, only grazed her. She looked up with a new sense of determination, and frankly-an adrenalin rush.
     “No shit sherlock!" Mai says.
The three guys automatically have their weapons out in a flash. Ki looks on with a scared look in her eyes. She begin trying to concentrate, and attempts to shield Makera against the next swing of the armor. Makera scraped back against the ground, luckily not hurt because of Ki. The armor now stood upright, Axe held in one hand, supported in the other.
"How are we gonna fight this thing?!" Corqren piped
Mai shrugs while skipping backwards, still looking in a concentrating way at the armor. "My arrows can't do anything to THAT! ..." She thinks, but shakes her head. "nothing ..."
Mi Shen grabs Ax by the arm and practically yells at him to give him some bombs. Ax looks at Mi Shen, very surprised and hands him over a few. Mi Shen yells, "all of them!" but Ax won't budge.
Makera jumped back, holding her Hylian shield before her, being pushed back by the heavy swing. She looked up as it swung again and was slammed again the wall by the force this time.
Mi Shen runs around the thing dropping bombs as he goes.
Mai gets an idea, and looks towards Ax. "If you can put all the bombs in one place, and lure than thing over them, then I can set them off from a distance!" She says, holding up an arrow to show him her point."
The giant gets knocked back as it steps over one bomb, and slams into one wall, but gets up as if nothing had happened. The armor comes back to an upright position, parts of it's armor chipping off like layers of paint, and it leans against its Axe almost experimentally before swinging it to get it's equilibrium back.
Ax raises his axe and yells "I think we're winning!" before getting whacked into the wall.
Yu winces as Ax hits the wall, the concern showing in her face as she yells, "Ax!"
Mi Shen runs to Ax grabbing the remaining bombs from the pouch, thinking to himself, “I wish mi was here...”
Mai looks over towards Mi Shen, drawing back her bowstring, "Throw'em Mi Shen!" As the fire begins to light upon the head of the arrow. He throws them at the thing, even if Mai doesn't shoot them they'd probably explode by how hard he threw them. Mai shoots the arrow, and they explode just in front of the armor, and she holds an arm before her as the explosion knocks her back. She looks up again and ... A scream is heard, not from any of the party, but strangely, from in front of them, and Yu looks forward as the explosion dissipate, shock showing on her face as her eyes widen from her own vision coming back.
     Mi Shen gasps.
Mi rolls backwards from the explosion, suddenly aware again of the suddenly strange feeling of consciousness. She sprawled a few feet before feeling herself knock against something hard, and finally stopping on the floor. She looked up slightly, feeling like .. well .. shit.
"MI!" Mi Shen runs to her.
"Oh god." is all that the party hears as she forces herself onto her elbows.
She looks over in the other direction, and she tries to scramble to her knees, without much luck, and finally just lets herself fall to the floor again.
He puts a hand on her shoulder "oh god... Mi... I'm so sorry.. I didn't know it was you!"
"Don worry-I didn't know it was me either-hehe-ow," she laughs at her own lame, old joke, before wincing from the multiple injuries.
He swallows, thinking he hurt her REALLY bad, and feeling guilty for it.
Two lights begin to emerge from apparently nothing in the room. One is tinted red, the other blue. Two shapes appear from them, each a hagard old women riding on a broom of their own. They look down at the couple, and cackle.
"It seems this experiment has gone badly Koume."
"Yes .. seems to have Kotake." And they laugh in an eery unison.
Mi Shen looks up at the duo. a slight. "huh?!" coming from him.
"Yes .. Link would not be pleased to know we wasted his personal assets." They continue to talk over Mi Shen,.
Mi shen starts to cover mi protectively. Mi pushes against Mi Shen, nearly shaking, but obviously fearing for some reason. As Mi Shen covers her she looks up at him, surprised. "You leave her alone you old hags!"
The two witches each create a sphere of light, saying, "Yes. We'll just recycle her .. " and cackle as they throw them both towards Mi Shen and Mi. A flash of light fills their vision and Mi is gone, and the two witches simply disappear.
Mai looks up as they disappear, her arms shaking slightly where they braced against the ground. She pounds the ground in raw frustration, screaming out, "Not again! ... not again ..." And putting her head against a wall to calm down.
Yu looks up, seeming to feel nothing.
Makera looks up from her position against the wall with shock, but gets up and says seriously. "We have to go after them .. farther into the temple ..."
Mi Shen moans from his sprawled position on the ground.
Mai looks over towards Mi Shen, unable to say anything for him. She stands up shakily, looking over to Yu for reassurance. She finds none, So she heads towards the entrance left by the armor's absence.
Makera follows her, looking from the side of her eye at Mi Shen. "Time to get down to business people." And heads down the stairs.
* * *

Makera struts into the pits of the Spirit temple with an aura of determination tangible even to those who might not have been sages. It wasn't hard to miss-she was about as pissed off as people got. She looked up towards Twinrova with Hylian shield in hand, and a glare adorning her face. The rest followed behind a few steps, afraid of her turning her wrath on friend instead of foe.
Corqren stops. "I think only Makera can do this guys..."
"Well I'm not gonna let you have all the fun," she says with an evil grin towards the party. "And I'd like to see you guys use this!" And she holds up the new reflective shield.
Ax crosses his arms. "then go.."
"Besides ..." And she trailed off into thought. "If I'm this stupid hero of time (which link shoulda been ... that ass) then I gotta show what I've got."
"Fine." she says, letting out a sniff of slight arrogance and walks up the stairs towards TwinRova.
Corqren lets out a cheer of encouragement "go Makera!"
Mi Shen's absent look of uninvolvement breaks as he sees TwinRova, and he runs towards them, screaming for them to face him, to give back Mi, but before He can untangle himself between his party members he is shot back by a pulse of light from the sisters. He slides a short ways down the wall to sit unconscious.
Makera doesn't even look back, and steps up to face the TwinRova at Eye level, looking from one to the other.
"Let's get this over with." Makera says simply. The two witches raise into the air, light glowing subtly around them. One begins the attack, and Makera blocks skillfully, the shield becoming red from the attack. As the other attack she knocks it away with her sword, waiting patiently for the fire witch to try to hit her again. As the shield began to radiate the heat of the attacks she let go of the stored energy towards the ice witch, who screeched pitifully, and complained back to the other, "How does she know to do that?" They looked at each other, and nodded their heads to something.
The light of each witch begins to meld as they come closer together, and in one flash of light they change form completely, becoming one single person, half ice and half fire.
Makera just looks at them with the same determined look, thinking to herself, "The recipe for french fried witch is the same no matter the proportions of the ingredients" and she smiles as she looks up towards them.
