You were torn from your loved ones,
and sent to far away places,
where you would see horror,
and face the unthinkable.
You were sent to far away places,
where you would know terror,
and sleepless nights.
Where you would see pain,
and suffering,
Where you would feel anguish,
and times of lonliness.
Sent away, to Honor our Flag,
to do your duty for America.
To experience first hand;
what no man, woman, or
child should ever have to see.
You risked your Life.
You gave your all
to serve our Flag.
To help America
maintain her dignity,
and earn her Freedom.
...And now, you're home!
With the people for whom
you selflessly risked your all.
When I think about it;
I can't help but wonder..
How does it feel?
Has America welcomed you with open arms?
Have we taken the time to say Thank You,
for a job well done? And for all that
you have sacraficed for us? Have we taken
the time to show you that we have missed you?
Have we shown you that we respect you for all
that you did? And that we realize you did it
for all of us? Have we commended you for
being the Pride of our Flag?...of America?
Does it feel Great to be Home?
You have earned so very much! Yet somhow;
it seems like we have neglected to realize that.
Dear God, what have we done?
Dare we follow the Eagle? We must!
We need to hear the voices of those
who have sacrificed so much for us!
Below, the window of hope remains open;
For The Veterans of Vietnam
Beyond the window is the path
to Happiness and Serenity~~
to the Place where they belong;
The Place called Home.
