Q. What... no admission cost, free photos & prize money to take home? I can't figure out this scam. This is to good to be true. I just wanna know when your going to be askin me for money. A. Well... as amazing as it may seem, female models at both our supermodel photoshoots and studio glamour workshops NEVER have to invest a single dime to participate. Our events are supported by our attending photographers, with our overhead costs funded by optional programs that we offer (see the 'promotional model programs' link for details). Q. Cool... so how can I get on our free event and workshop mailing list, or receive some of your 'no percentage fee' paid modeling assignments? A. Easy... Click on the 'Contact Us' e-mail link on our main page and send the following information: Full name, complete mailing address with zip code, and 2 phone numbers if available. We will snail-mail you a talent application and program checklist. Q. What are these photographers going to do with my photos taken at your events? A. First off, photographers who attend our events are NOT provided any form of release rights, and CAN NOT publish, publicly display or distribute your image without your signature on a modeling release. Secondly, we recommend that you secure business cards from every photographer who photographs you. Attending photographers are requested by us to provide free proofprints to any models who ask for them. The safety, protection, privacy and rights of models who attend our events has, and always will be, our utmost concern. Q. How can I maximize the amount of model money that I take home at your events? A. We honestly have not structured our events to make 'model money' the major draw of what models should be concerned with. Any model who does not network with the participating photographers for photos and assignments, and does not secure business cards from agents, promotors and casting personel at our closing ceremonies, has lost sight what our events have really been established for. This is NOT a competition between models to see who makes the most money. The use of model money was only initiated to assist models in recouping some of their time and transportation expenses. Do NOT attend these events in the hopes of 'striking it rich', cause it ain't gonna happen. The amount of model money the average model takes home can fluctuate anywhere from $50, to $100 or $150. To assist you in maximizing your model money income, we can offer you the following recommendations: (1) Work with as many attending photographers as you possibly can. (2) Change clothes at least three times, to give both your photographers and your images a new and fresh look. (3) Keep busy modeling thru-out the day, and dont allow yourself to get distracted by idol photographer chit-chat or snack bar conversation. There will be plenty of time to communicate with the participating photographers, and attending agents at the closing ceremonies. (4) Get plenty of sleep the night before (no partying late Saturday nite) and get to the event 'on time'. (5) Keep in mind ladies, that 'boys will be boys', and that some of the attending photographers will obviously be attracted to models who wear briefer clothing articles. That's just the way it is. However, do not allow yourself to get into the mindset of "Hey, do I have to be 'half naked' to get attention"? The largest majority of our participating photographers are professionals who will recognize you for the image potential that you have, and not how much 'flesh' you can display. Q. What kind of modeling actually takes place at these events? A. Our supermodel photoshoots have been structured around fashion, glamour and swimsuit modeling. Absolutely NO NUDITY, no see thru clothing or no transparent lingerie of any kind is allowed. Our studio glamour workshops are structured for 'racier' and more provocative attire, with swimsuits, lingerie, costumes and clubwear recommended. Q. What kind of clothing styles and colors should I bring? A. We recommend solid color clothing, with no polka dots, no wild prints, no distracting stripes. These types of clothing usually only distract the viewer of your image from what the real subject is... and that's you. Recommended clothing styles are: shorts, various forms of full and brief tops, mini-dresses, mini-skirts and form fitting pants. We do not recommend prom-dresses or cheerleader outfits, unless of course, that's the image you wish to portray. Swim-suits are never mandatory, but you may bring them if you so desire. Q. What about makeup and stuff for my hair? A. We recommend coming with your hair and makeup ready to photograph. We also recommend bringing a small makeup kit to 'freshin up' with as the day goes by. To provide your images with a different look, we recommend bringing a small amount of 'hair adjustment' items. Things like hair scrunchies, hair spray and curling irons are acceptable. Q. What types and ages of models are you looking for? A. Recommended ages for models at the outdoor supermodels photoshoots is from 14 to 38 years of age. All models must be 18 and over to participate in the studio glamour workshops. All races and ethnicities invited. Female models only. Q. Just how safe is it for a beginning model to attend your events. A. We have security personell at every event, and we do make attempts to check the credentials of all photographers and promotors who attend our events, but as we all know, there are no guarentees of a 100% safe working environment anywhere in this country. We have banned previous attendees of our events for moral reasons and for underhanded business practices. A very high percentage of our attending photographers are actually professionals and serious amateurs who take their craft of photography very seriously, however, you may run into a few 'cheap camera' snapshot artists. If you ever encounter a situation that makes you feel uncomfortable or uneasy with any individual who was either referred to you by us, or that you met at any of our events, we strongly suggest that you contact us either at the event, or as soon as possible. Q. What are some advantages for models who attend the studio glamour workshops? A. All models and photographers receive free tacos while at the workshop. Our glamour workshops provide a safe and pleasant working environment, with quality studio photographs taken. Models receive model money pay from each photographer, and will also be provided the opportunity to sell a 'limited release' model release to each photographer that you work with during the workshop for $20 each. The limited release provides each photographer the opportunity to use your images on their website, and also post forum messages with your images included. The number of photographers attending will usually range anywhere from 6 to 10, giving you an option of generating anywhere from $80 to $200 of additional income from the sales of your releases. No other publication rights are included. The sales of the modeling releases is optional only, not a requirement. Q. What are some of the guidelines for models attending the studio glamour workshops? A. All models MUST be 18 or older to participate. This is a glamour attire workshop, with lingerie, swimsuits and provocative clothing being the rule rather than the exception. At every workshop, each attending model must fill out a Select Models 'Talent Application & Release', which provides us with two options. We retain your contact information, and provide it to any interested agents, casting directors and photographers who we deem as legitmate, and have paid assignments available for you. The release provides us the opportunity to use your images inside our 'SM Photo Gallery' on our website, and also use your images while posting on internet modeling forums and messageboards. Images included in our photo gallery will meet your approval, will be very flattering, and will showcase your best qualities.
