Evacuation!

Thanks to Hurricane Floyd, classes were canceled for two days. This gave me a chance to get away from Columbia and head for Knoxville, TN with my friend Katie. It was a great road trip and we had alot of fun. Columbia didn't even get hit at all by Floyd. We got a little drizzle at most. At home in Virginia got hit worse. My family lost water for a week. Here are just a couple pictures from the trip.

The trip was long due to a constant flow of traffic on I-26. We made the trip fun though. It was dark the whole ride and we didn't realize we were in the mountains until we saw strange lights in the sky. They were just houses on the sides of the mountains. We got a kick out of that. We finally arrived at Katie's Aunt Nancy's house around 1 am very ready for bed.

On the way home we took a detour through the Smokey Mountains. Here is a picture of us at one of the scenic stops. The camera actually took this picture, something I didn't realize it could do. I almost slid off the mountain because I didn't know how long it waited before taking the picture. I think the camera did a great job!

When we got to the bottom of the mountains we ended up in Cherokee Indian Reservation.
This is me and Katie with Charlie who was kind enough to let us take a picture with him.
